Where and when to catch every fish in Fields of Mistria — river, pond, and ocean fish for each season, plus rod, shadow size, and selling tips.
How fishing works
Get the Worn Fishing Rod from the Tackle Shop on the Beach for 500 Tesserae. Cast your line, wait for a bite, and pull back to catch the fish.
The shadow size of a fish indicates its size — bigger shadows are usually rarer. Fish can be sold for Tesserae or donated to the Museum’s Fish wing.
There are three water types: River, Pond, and Ocean. Some fish only appear on rainy or snowy days.
Spring fish
River: Blue Gill, Carp, Chub, Paddlefish, Walleye (rainy days).
Pond: Angel Fish, Barb, Brown Trout, Crucian Carp, Goldfish.
Ocean: Anchovy, Lobster, Mackerel, Ocean Sunfish, Shrimp.
Summer fish
River: Bream, Loach, Minnow, Sweetfish, Tarpon.
Pond: Brown Bullhead, Giant Koi, Golden Shiner, Lake Chub, Sauger.
Ocean: Char, Crab, Dart, Grouper, Stingray.
Fall fish
River: Grayling, Lamprey, Perch, Razorback, Shad.
Pond: Bluefish, Killifish, Rainbow Trout, Striped Bass, White Perch.
Ocean: Butterfish, Halibut, Mullet, Saury, Shark.
Winter fish
River: Bowfish, Dace, Freshwater Eel, Herring, Shadow Bass.
Pond: Alligator Gar, Burbot, Flathead Catfish, Giant Tilapia, Tilapia.
Ocean: Horse Mackerel, King Crab, Oarfish, Sand Lance, Sea Bass.
Weather notes: Walleye (spring river) needs rainy days; Dace (winter river) appears on snowy days; Mackerel (spring ocean) prefers rainy days.

- Fish on rainy days — several fish are weather-exclusive, and rain also waters your crops.
- Donate first, sell later — complete Museum Fish sets before selling rare catches.
- Bigger shadow = rarer fish — target big shadows for high-value catches.
- Fishing is a reliable early income — sell common fish for easy Tesserae in your first spring.
