Fields of Mistria Quests & Requests Guide

How quests and requests work in Fields of Mistria — the request board, no time limits, renown rewards, and the key story quests that unlock mines and tools.

How quests work

Quests come from two main places:

  1. The Request Board — villager requests with no time limit. Accept them all; complete them when you have the items.
  2. Story quests — main storyline quests that unlock areas and tools.

To complete a request: gather the required items, go to the quest giver, and interact with them. You get the reward immediately.

Why quests matter

Quests are the fastest renown source. Renown raises your Town Rank (Wood → Stone → Copper → …), which unlocks new areas, rewards, and the mines. Rank rewards are collected from the chest to the left of the quest board.

Request board tips

  1. Accept everything — no time limits means no downside to accepting all requests.
  2. Stash the items — global inventory means requested items in chests count when you deliver.
  3. Requests teach gifting — many request items overlap with loved gifts, so you learn what villagers like.
  4. Don’t sell request items — half of what you grab matters later; check the board before selling rare finds.
  5. Heart events — after every 2 hearts with a villager, an event appears in your journal or on the request board.

Story quest highlights

  • Mines: “Re-opening The Mines” on Spring 6 requires Stone Town Rank — complete “Do Bro a Favor” first for the Pickaxe.
  • Magic: spells unlock through mine progression — magic aids farming and adventuring.
  • Town restoration: the 1.0 update completes the town’s storyline arc as you restore Mistria to its former glory.
