Getting started with animals

To raise animals you need housing first:

  1. Buy blueprints from the Carpenter’s Shop with Tesserae: Coop = 1,500t, Barn = 2,000t.
  2. Place the blueprint on your farm.
  3. Gather the materials required to build the animal housing.
  4. Adopt animals from Hayden’s Farm (south of your farm).

Daily animal care

  • Let them out in the morning — happy animals produce better products.
  • Bring them back inside by the end of the day. They won’t go in on their own, and if left out too long they get upset with you.
  • Animals that are tucked in produce animal products (eggs, milk, wool, etc.).

Breeding and color variants

You can breed your animals:

  1. Buy Heart Shaped Treats from Hayden’s Shop.
  2. Feed one to an animal with at least 2 Hearts.
  3. Make sure you have free space for the new animal.

Breeding is how you get rare color variants — one of the game’s signature features, and a fun long-term ranching goal.

Ranching tips

  1. Upgrade as you grow — one coop and one barn cover early game; expand when income allows.
  2. Pet and feed daily — hearts rise with consistent care.
  3. Breed for variants — heart-shaped treats turn ranching into a collector’s game.
  4. The Animal Festival (Winter 10) rewards well-cared-for animals — keep them happy all year.
  5. Ranching is a skill too — it levels with daily animal care and unlocks perks at Caldarus’s farm statue.
