Key non-romanceable villagers

  • Holt & Nora — Celine’s parents, owners of the General Store. Upgrade their store to unlock new seeds.
  • Olric — March’s brother. Certified himbo.
  • Luke — gives you the Bug Net quest on Spring 4.
  • Taria — runs the Tackle Shop on the Beach where you buy the fishing rod.
  • Darcy — sells goods at the Saturday market (coffee, and more).
  • Elsie — requests items like Snowdrop Anemones (3) via the quest board.

Full list note: the complete 30+ roster with schedules and dialogue lives on the community wiki; this page covers the villagers new players meet and rely on most in the first season.

Why befriend everyone?

Friendship pays whether or not you’re looking for a spouse:

  1. Recipes unlock at higher heart levels.
  2. Shop discounts from shopkeeper friends.
  3. Story beats — the town feels lived-in as villagers react to your progress.
  4. Requests — villagers post quests on the board; completing them earns renown and rewards.
  5. Romance prerequisites — you can’t marry someone you haven’t befriended.

Meeting everyone checklist

  1. Visit the Inn on Friday after 6 PM — one stop, everyone gathered.
  2. Talk daily — new dialogue appears as hearts rise.
  3. Gift on birthdays — the biggest friendship spikes.
  4. Complete requests — quests reward renown and deepen relationships.
  5. Donate to the Museum — completing sets rewards you and pleases the town.
